Small 19thC hair work brooch has black enameling set in the frame that surrounds woven hair under beveled glass. The pieces of enamel are tiny; one has a small chip and 2 are rubbed. These can be seen with a loop however it does not detract from the beauty of the piece. Brooch has tube hinge and 'C' clasp. This is an early piece and as seen in the photos below it shows some wear.
This brooch is similar to one shown in the C. Jeanenne Bell book on page 99 Plate 248.
